Good Morning & Happy Valentine's Day!

On my way to work this morning, I-10 was something special. It was completely backed up due to the City of Houston shutting down the ramp to I-45 North - genius.

But, even though I was stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic, I came across a rare gem. I will let the pictures speak for themselves, and you can come to your own conclusions on this one...

 Look, he's waving, "Hello"...

If you look closely, his "bow tie" and "belt" are garbage bags - which are actually what secure this fella to the trailer (double points for cleverness). I can only pray that this is not a gift for anyone this Valentine's Day.

Hello, ALL!

Every weekday, I come home with a story - a traffic story. A story of stupid drivers, redneck tendencies, and all-around entertaining commuters. This blog is documentation of those stories. This blog will give you a view through my eyes as I drive 30 miles each way to and from work, Monday through Friday. A view from my Hyundai.

Even though it is Saturday, I wanted to share one of my favorite stories:

One day, I was headed home from work (I work in the Midtown area of Houston, on Weslayan near Highway-59). I was headed north on Shepherd Drive towards I-10. I was in the far right-hand lane (one of four lanes) and there was a cop car in the lane to the left of me. Normally this would be no big deal. However, this cop with not paying any attention. He slowly swayed into my lane, causing me to honk and slam on my breaks to avoid an accident.

Then, we move on. A block or so later, the cop repeats his mistake and ventures into my lane again. At this point, I think, "FOR REAL?!? It's time to put your toys away and drive."

Policeman of the year. Right here in Houston. Who knew?
